It was the venue where Australian glider pilot Matthew Scutter became World Champion in Standard Class.
In December 2023 Narromine was the venue for the 37th FAI World Gliding Championships which proved to be a hugely successful competition and flew 11 of 14 possible days.
Australian pilot James Nugent was crowned World Champion in Club Class and
Australian pilot Greg Beecroft won the Silver Medal for Second Place in Standard Class.
For the first time in our gliding history, Australia placed Third in the World Team Cup.
An outstanding result for Australia by any measure and we congratulate not only the Podium Winners but all of the members of the Australian World Championship Team
None of the above would have been possible were it not for the outstanding efforts of the WGC2023 Organising Team pictured below.
Well done Team WGC2023 and congratulations from all of us!
